German pronunciation?

[edit]

In English-speaking Europe (Ireland and Britain), Persil is pronounced PER-sill, with the stress placed on the first syllable, but per-SILL in United States television advertisements, with the stress applied to the second syllable. What is the original German pronunciation? Knowing this could help to resolve the transatlantic conflict. O'Dea (talk) 01:23, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The original German pronunciation has the stress applied to the second syllable with along i (perzeal or perzeel). 2003:DA:9712:4E04:49A8:29A4:AF13:E0E1 (talk) 21:11, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
